About

Learn more about me

At the age of 14, I started coding websites for a media company - while being the only person in my class with my own e-mail address at the time.

Founded the once largest german community website for LGBT youngsters.

Started using SuSE Linux 6 back in 1998, exclusively switched to desktop linux and started contributing to FOSS projects during university.

Wrote my thesis paper about design and implementation of a video streaming server on a Dreambox digital satellite receiver.

Discovered and mastered the GStreamer multimedia framework while working in R&D for Dream Multimedia.

Enjoying the company of fellow hackers in maker spaces and on conferences and congresses around the world.

In my free time, I like trying to save the world by running a local repair initiative. With regular appearances in a live show on German national public television, I'm promoting repairability and sustainability to a vast audience.

Living in my quiet little village surrounded by peaceful nature, I enjoy working in home office.
